The company was formed in 1991 by Ron Harris, Joy Harris (now Joy Ward) with Olive Wilkes and Cedric Wilkes providing sound financial backing.
To-day the business comprises a team of 20 specialising in the production of gears. Gears that are supplied with quality features to suit the particular requirements of each and every client.
Clients benefit from our very wide and long experience of gear production.
The family connections continue today with Ron Harris – (MD), Cedric Wilkes (Dir), still actively involved in the company.
Joy Ward (Financial Director) handles all financial matters within the company.
After many years with the company Stuart Harris (Production Dir.) now also has control over the company sales efforts. This dual role helps us balance any sales promises that are given, with the production facilities available, and so contributes greatly towards deadlines being met.
Clients can be assured that telephone contact will be with a director and therefore actions will be taken, swiftly on their behalf.
Generally Redditch Gears take on work that can be predominantly produced in-house, ensuring that customers receive their job on time and too specification.
Steel supplies and specialist operations such as heat treatment, shot peening, are provided from our own listed and proven suppliers.
These companies will all have been quality approved. This enables us to maintain our own and very important, long established Global ISO 9001 registration.
Work undertaken is a balance between:-
- Repeat production runs
- Jobbing work
- Reverse engineering
Clients can rely on us to help them get back in to production in the shortest possible time, with items such as soft gears which can “get you by” whilst the correct specification gears are produced.
